Well, NaNoWriMo is nearly over for another year. I’m currently at 75k – I managed to write a 50k draft in a week. This is not my usual pace, but I just wanted to see if I could do it. I did. Now I’ve started working on a different project. I doubt I’ll have this one finished by the end of the month, but I want to see what the end total will be. As for that draft that I spent the first 50k on? I have no idea when or if that will ever be ready for public consumption. I somehow managed to write an epic fantasy with hardly any worldbuilding. It’s going to take a lot of time to stew before it remotely works.

As for Champions? It’s…  going. I can’t seem to get the first chapter right, and I’m on my third attempt (fourth if you include the zero draft). I’m hoping to have it up in a few weeks, but I can’t be sure. I know what’s supposed to happen in it, although I don’t have a good outline (because I never have good outlines for these things), but that first chapter is causing issues. Doesn’t want to come out right no matter how I write it. But fingers crossed that it’ll be ready by mid to late December. You know how sometimes you can’t word things right? That’s what’s going on with this one. For some reason, I can’t do it. I can’t quite get my main character’s voice right (the current draft is in a first person POV, but that may change), and I’m not sure what to do to make it right. Ah, the trials and tribulations of writing.

Right now I’m watching The Crown, and waiting for the corgis to appear (when I’m not trying to identify fountain pens and if they’re ones that are appropriate for the time period). I have counted one corgi. I feel like there should be more.

(Also, the job search, as I’ve mentioned in previous posts, is not going well either, but that’s besides the point. It’s the main reason why I’ve had enough time to write 50k words in a week.)
